Oil Change
Oil is the lifeblood of every engine, but oil does have a lifespan. After many heating and cooling cycles under huge pressure, the oil in an engine becomes thin (it loses its viscosity) and becomes full of sediment. Each car manufacturer prescribes an oil change schedule for each model of car engine. Swifty’s follows the manufacturer’s recommendations in regards with what type and grade of oil to use and what life span the oil in your car engine has.
Filter Change
The car engine is a complex and precise piece of machinery, so filtering the lifeblood (the oil) of the engine is very important to ensure a long and reliable engine lifespan. Oil filters are a fine filtering system that removes fine sediment from the oil. Sediment can interfere with the speed that the oil moves around the engine, can also interfere with the critical moving parts, and more importantly, where the critical moving parts connect with each other. If some of these moving parts start to touch each other without clean oil between them, they can wear and will start a negative chain reaction in the engine. It is, therefore, good practice to change the oil filter with every oil change.
