1. How to request a cancellation or refund
Email us at service@swiftys.co.za or call 010 823 2556 with:
• your name and contact details
• vehicle registration / make and model
• job card or invoice number
• PayFast / payment reference
• the reason for the request
We aim to respond within 2 business days.
2. Bookings and deposits (work not yet started)
When you cancel: More than 24 hours before the booked drop-off / start time, and we have not ordered non-returnable parts.
What happens: Full refund of any deposit or prepayment, less any PayFast / bank fee we cannot recover
When you cancel: Less than 24 hours before the booked time, or a no-show We may retain a reasonable cancellation / wasted-slot fee of R350 or 10% of the estimated labour, whichever is greater.
What happens: We may retain a reasonable cancellation / wasted-slot fee of R350 or 10% of the estimated labour, whichever is greater.
If we cancel or cannot honour the booking, we will issue a full refund of amounts paid for that booking, or a new date if you prefer.
If we have already ordered vehicle-specific or non-returnable parts on your written or recorded authorisation, those costs may be deducted even if you cancel before work starts. We will show you the deduction.
3. After the vehicle is booked in or work has started
You may stop the job at any time. You then pay only for:
• diagnostic / strip-and-quote work already done at our published or quoted rates
• labour actually performed
• parts already fitted or ordered that cannot reasonably be returned unused
• any authorised additional work already completed
4. When we will refund in full (or as close to full as the facts allow)
• Duplicate or incorrect charges
• Payment taken after a valid cancellation
• We cannot source the parts or complete the authorised work within a reasonable time and you choose not to wait
• Work or parts that fail our statutory quality obligations, after we have had a fair chance to put it right where the CPA requires that first
• Any amount charged without your authorisation
5. Warranty work and defective repairs (not “change of mind”)
New or reconditioned parts we supply and fit, and the labour to fit them, carry at least the statutory 3-month warranty required by the CPA (section 57), unless a longer supplier or manufacturer warranty applies. Ordinary wear and tear, misuse, and work done or parts fitted by someone else after our job are excluded. If a covered defect appears:
1. Bring the vehicle back so we can inspect it.
2. We will repair or replace the failed part / redo the labour at no charge if the claim is valid.
3. If the same failure is not remedied, or a further related failure appears within 3 months after that repair, you may require replacement of the relevant goods or a refund of the price paid for those goods / that repair, as the CPA provides.
A “change of mind” after a properly authorised and completed service is not a refund ground.
6. How refunds are paid
• Same card, Instant EFT or other original PayFast method where the gateway allows it
• Otherwise EFT to the account you nominate
• We issue a refund receipt
• Approved refunds are typically processed within 10 business days after we agree the amount. Your bank may take a few extra days to show the credit
PayFast charges a small per-refund fee to us. We only deduct an irrecoverable gateway fee where this policy says so; we do not add extra “admin” on top of a statutory refund.
7. Storage if the vehicle is not collected
If the vehicle is ready and you do not collect it within 7 days of notice (or any longer period we agree in writing), a storage charge of R150.00 incl. VAT per day from the 8th day may apply. The vehicle remains subject to our artisan’s lien for unpaid authorised charges. Storage and lien do not replace your CPA rights on defective work.
8. Your rights are not taken away
Nothing in this policy limits rights that the CPA, the National Credit Act (if it applies) or other law says cannot be limited. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may approach:
• Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa (MIOSA) — https://www.miosa.co.za
• National Consumer Commission
• Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (where applicable)
